About Us

Richard Dupler, CPP

Founder and CEO

We have been involved in photography professionally for the past 20+ years. We specialize in weddings and other special event photography, including onsite printing at your parties.

We also have the great honor of photographing for our Hometown baseball team, the Detroit Tigers. We have photographed both here in Detroit and in Lakeland, FL, for their Fantasy Camps and Batting Practices for the past 18 years. After many years working with the Detroit Tigers, we were chosen and given the opportunity to work the MasterCard sponsored All-Star Fantasy camp experience. This event takes us all over the country and affords us the chance to work in some beautiful ballparks. We are now chosen by MLB to help cover part of the World Series when it is played here in Detroit.

We continue to deliver quality photography services for your special event, both big and small; corporate and private. Give us a call and let us help you remember your special event through photography. As you can see we have a great deal of experience in all facets of photography.

Give us the chance to be your photographer as well.

PPA Councilor

Local Photographer Joins International Non-Profit Council

Shelby Twp.,MI, July 1st, 2018 — Professional photographer Rick Dupler of Captured Expressions was elected to the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) Council for 2018 – 2021. He was selected to fill one of the only four available slots in the state of Michigan. A non-profit, international association with more than 30,000 members, PPA is ultimately governed by its members through such council representatives.

PPA Councilors are professional photographers who volunteer their time and service to guide and act as the voice for their state’s PPA members. Duties include discussing and voting on changes to the Bylaws and the leadership of the association (via the election of the Nominating Committee and the Board of Directors). They also play a crucial role in sharing the PPA message to existing, new and prospective PPA members in their state.

About PPA:
Professional Photographers of America (PPA) is the largest and longest-standing nonprofit photography trade association with a 150-year history. It currently helps 30,000+ pros elevate their craft and grow their business with resources, protection, and education, all under PPA’s core guiding principle of bridging the gap between photographers and consumers.

The Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) program from PPA assures
others of a photographer’s knowledge, experience and continuance to develop new skills and techniques. It is a declaration of your professional competence!

Being a CPP is like quality assurance because certification is a credential consumers and businesses understand. More importantly, it provides you with a tool for telling the world—and all those potential clients—why they should call you rather than a competitor down the street.

This program wasn’t created out of thin air! PPA and the Certification Committee follow standards for certification which are established by the national Institute of Credentialing Excellence (ICE). ICE sets the guidelines for creating the written certification exam, and makes sure the questions are relevant to professional photography today. ICE also provides Professional Photographers of America and the Certification Committee with support and information to maintain the certification process.

The Certification Committee meets on a regular basis to review the program. The process is ALWAYS current and it ALWAYS reflects the new advances in our profession of photography.
