OK, so I know that as a professional photograph who’s been doing this for what seems like a bazillion years, I should totally just tell you to book your wedding with “Captured Expressions” photography and be done with it. For me, though, booking a wedding photographer is a really, really important decision that you shouldn’t take lightly.
First and foremost, I believe that you should book a wedding photographer who captures the types of images you love. In addition, I believe that the wedding photographer you choose should be someone whose company you enjoy. After all, you’re going to spend a lot of time with that person on your big day! They’re basically going to be your shadow! I do like to make people laugh. If you’re laughing and having fun, your smiles are real and time flies.
If you love the images you see on my website and in this welcome packet, that’s just one reason why you should book with Captured Expressions

About PPA

Professional Photographers of America (PPA) is the largest and longest-standing nonprofit photography trade association. Founded in 1868, PPA currently helps 33,000 pros elevate their craft and grow their business with resources and education, all under PPA’s core guiding principle of bridging the gap between photographers and consumers.

2019 Bronze medal winner

Rick Dupler of Shelby Twp., MI is honored by peers and jurors for high-quality photography.

Rick Dupler of Captured Expressions in Shelby Twp., MI was named a Bronze Medalist during Professional Photographers of America’s 2019 International Photographic Competition. Dupler’s work will be on display at the Gaylord Opryland Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee, January 19-21, 2020. This International Photographic Exhibit is held in conjunction with Imaging USA, an annual convention and expo for professional photographers.

A panel of 36 eminent jurors from across the United States selected the top photographs from over 5,200 total submitted entries at PPA headquarters in Atlanta. Judged against a standard of excellence, 2,654 images were selected for the General Collection and 625 (roughly 12 percent) were selected for the esteemed Loan Collection—the best of the best. The Loan Collection images will all be published in the much-anticipated “Loan Collection” book by Marathon Press.

The level of the award is determined by how many of those four images receive the highest possible honor: acceptance into the PPA Loan Collection, which is displayed at photographic exhibitions, conventions and other photography events. Rick Dupler was named a Bronze Medalist by earning a merit—a mark of quality and honor—for each of the four images included in their entry case to the International Photographic Competition. This is the most prestigious competition of its kind, where images are judged based on a standard of artistic excellence, not against each other. In 2019, they were one of only 170 Bronze Medalists.

CPP – Certified Professional Photographer (PPA)
The CPP program from PPA assures others of a photographer’s knowledge, experience and continuance to develop new skills and techniques. It is a declaration of your professional competence!

Being a CPP is like quality assurance because certification is a credential consumers and businesses understand. More importantly, it provides you with a tool for telling the world—and all those potential clients—why they should call you rather than a competitor down the street.

This program wasn’t created out of thin air! PPA and the Certification Committee follow standards for certification which are established by the national Institute of Credentialing Excellence (ICE). ICE sets the guidelines for creating the written certification exam, and makes sure the questions are relevant to professional photography today. ICE also provides Professional Photographers of America and the Certification Committee with support and information to maintain the certification process.

The Certification Committee meets on a regular basis to review the program. The process is ALWAYS current and it ALWAYS reflects the new advances in our profession of photography.
